UAE airline Etihad Airways is entering Georgia’s aviation market, the Economy Ministry announced on Friday.
The airline plans to start operating on the Abu Dhabi-Tbilisi-Abu Dhabi flight from March 1, 2026.
Flights are planned to be operated 14 times per week. Currently, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi operates on the Abu Dhabi-Tbilisi-Abu Dhabi route. As of today, flights in this direction are operated 7 times per week.
According to statistical data, Georgia has the most active air traffic among Gulf countries after the United Arab Emirates. According to last year’s data, 647,710 passengers were transported between the two countries, which comprised 59% of the total passenger flow between Georgia and Gulf countries.
“The entry of Etihad Airways, one of the best airlines in the Middle East (4th place according to 2025 data from SKYTRAX, the world’s recognized organization for researching and evaluating airline and airport service quality), into Georgia’s aviation market will promote the deepening of trade and economic relations between the two countries, further increase passenger flow, and strengthen the civil aviation and tourism sectors in Georgia,” the Ministry added.
