Georgian companies to launch on Alibaba.com with Produce in Georgia support

Georgian companies, supported by the Produce in Georgia agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, are preparing to join Alibaba.com, one of the world’s largest B2B e-commerce platforms.

According to the Ministry, the first stage of the initiative will involve registering up to 50 Georgian businesses on the platform.

“The agency will cover all annual membership fees as well as expenses related to product promotion and platform placement. Participating companies will receive Global Gold Supplier status, a trusted verification mark that helps build credibility and gives buyers confidence in their decisions,” the Ministry stated.

Listing on Alibaba.com will provide Georgian firms with an exceptional opportunity to access international markets, attract global partners, and increase export potential, the statement added.

The selection of companies will take place in two stages.

“In the initial phase, businesses with the highest ratings on the Produce in Georgia electronic platform (tradewithgeorgia.com) over several years were shortlisted. In the next stage, these companies will undergo additional verification by the Alibaba.com team. After the selection is finalized, Produce in Georgia will conduct specialized training for the participants before the platform launch,” the Ministry explained.

An official visit from the Alibaba.com team to Georgia is also scheduled soon. During this visit, representatives of the e-commerce giant will explore Georgian products firsthand.
