Georgian Economy Minister highlights importance of Abu Dhabi Ports Group investment in country, with “broader cooperation” on Gov’t’s agenda

Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Wednesday emphasized the significance of the investment initiated by Abu Dhabi Ports Group in Georgia. The company, a leading global trade, logistics, and transport operator managing 10 ports and terminals in the United Arab Emirates, plays a crucial role in the sector. However, Davitashvili noted that the Georgian Government’s agenda encompassed broader cooperation.

Speaking to the press in Dubai during the World Governments Summit—attended by the Georgian delegation led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze—Davitashvili highlighted Abu Dhabi Ports Group as a key logistics player both regionally and globally.

He pointed out the company’s extensive expertise in the container sector, bulk cargo transportation, and logistics operations, emphasizing that its multifunctional capabilities presented valuable opportunities for knowledge-sharing.

The Minister also underscored that Georgia was implementing major logistics projects aimed at strengthening the country’s transport and logistics infrastructure, ultimately enhancing its competitiveness.
