Georgian PM highlights “great prospects” of working with UAE, Emirati companies

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday emphasized the “promising prospects” of his Government’s collaboration with institutions and companies in the United Arab Emirates, expressing interest in strengthening ties further.

During his visit to Dubai for the World Governments Summit, the Prime Minister noted a shared enthusiasm from Emirati partners for deepening cooperation.

“We reviewed ongoing joint investment projects and expressed our gratitude to the Emir [Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE] for his support and warm relations with our country,” Kobakhidze stated.

He also highlighted his meeting with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group to discuss a major investment in a dry port project in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, which is set to open this year.

“We were introduced to the Group’s operations and discussed our significant joint project already underway. Additionally, there is interest in expanding their presence in our country across other sectors. We reaffirmed our commitment to deepening this cooperation as much as possible,” he added.

The discussions also covered opportunities for further collaboration with the Group on “strategic logistics and transport projects,” according to the Government Administration.
