Georgian mixed martial artist Merab Dvalishvili successfully defended his UFC bantamweight championship on Sunday by defeating Russian contender Umar Nurmagomedov at the Intuit Dome arena in Los Angeles.
In a grueling five-round battle, Dvalishvili took control starting from the third round and secured his victory via a unanimous decision, maintaining his status as the bantamweight champion of the world.
The 34-year-old fighter, nicknamed “The Machine,” is currently on an impressive 12-fight winning streak, boasting a professional MMA record of 19 wins.
Dvalishvili first claimed the bantamweight title in September 2024 by defeating American fighter Sean O’Malley.
