IndiGo launches direct Mumbai-Tbilisi flights starting August 2

One of Asia’s largest airlines, IndiGo, will begin operating direct regular flights between Mumbai and Tbilisi three times a week starting August 2.

Mumbai becomes the second Indian city, after Delhi, to be directly connected to Georgia by air. With the addition of this new route, there will now be a total of 10 weekly direct flights between the two countries. Until now, IndiGo operated daily flights on the Delhi – Tbilisi – Delhi route.

According to Tamar Ioseliani, Chair of the Board of the United Airports of Georgia, the launch of direct flights from Mumbai will enhance tourism, business, and cultural ties between Georgia and India.

From January to June 2025, a total of 56,241 passengers traveled from India to Georgia via direct flights, marking a 123% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

IndiGo, one of Asia’s largest low-cost carriers, transported over 112 million passengers in 2024 and currently operates around 1,900 flights per day to more than 600 destinations worldwide. The airline’s fleet consists of approximately 400 aircraft.
