According to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), Georgian airports handled 8.5 million passengers in 2025, representing a 14.1 per cent increase YoY. Arrivals rose by 14.2 per cent to 4.2 million passengers, whilst departures increased by 14.0 per cent to 4.3 million.
GeoStat reports that 95.2 per cent of passenger traffic through Georgian airports in 2025 was carried on scheduled flights.
The number of passenger flights operated from Georgian airports totalled 33,600, up 11.1 per cent on the previous year.
The volume of cargo and mail handled at Georgian airports last year reached 39,000 tonnes, of which 92.9 per cent comprised inbound freight and mail, with the remaining 7.1 per cent outbound.
According to GeoStat, 3,900 cargo flights were operated through Georgian airports in 2025, a figure 77.1 per cent higher than the corresponding figure for the previous year.
Additionally, Georgian air carriers transported 740,200 passengers and 154,100 tonnes of cargo last year. The number of passengers carried rose by 14.8 per cent year-on-year, whilst the volume of freight transported fell by 42.9 per cent compared with the previous year.
As of 2025, Georgia’s civil aviation register listed a total of 62 aircraft. Of these, 77.4 per cent were passenger aircraft, while 22.6 per cent were cargo aircraft. Among the passenger fleet, 72.9 per cent had a capacity of 50 seats or fewer, 10.4 per cent accommodated between 51 and 150 seats, and 16.7 per cent had a capacity of 151 to 250 seats or more.
Georgian airports in 2025 had six runways, 59 check-in desks, 26 passenger gates, and 2,500 car parking spaces for private vehicles.
