Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili announced the successful completion of negotiations with China Eastern Airlines, which will operate direct flights between Shanghai and Tbilisi three times a week starting July 15.
During the meeting with the air company leadership, Mariam Kvrivishvili emphasized that direct flights could further intensify business and economic ties between Georgia and China. She said that this decision would deepen people-to-people relations and contribute to additional revenue for the Georgian tourism industry.
The meeting focused on Georgia’s status as an official partner country at one of Asia’s most prestigious and large-scale tourism exhibitions, ITB China 2026, which will be held in Shanghai on May 26-28 of this year, and will contribute to the popularization of Georgia’s tourism potential.
