According to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), Georgia’s Construction Cost Index (CCI) increased by 0.9% in June 2026 compared to the previous month, while rising by 3.9% year-on-year.
Across the main construction sub-sectors, the residential construction index increased by 2.6% month-on-month and by 3.5% compared to June 2025. The non-residential construction index rose by 0.6% month-on-month but declined by 0.1% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the civil engineering index decreased by 0.5% compared to May but recorded a significant 5.8% increase year-on-year.
GeoStat reported that the 0.9% monthly increase in the overall Construction Cost Index was primarily driven by a 5.4% rise in the average monthly nominal wages of employees in the construction sector. This factor alone contributed 1.01 percentage points to the overall change in the index.
On an annual basis, the 3.9% increase in the Construction Cost Index was largely attributed to higher transport, fuel, and electricity costs, which rose by 16.6% in the construction sector. This contributed 1.9 percentage points to the overall annual increase. A further 1.8% rise in the average monthly nominal wages of construction employees contributed an additional 1.01 percentage points.
Overall, the Construction Cost Index has increased by 29.3% since February 2022, according to GeoStat.
