
Starting this summer navigation season, Greek airline Sky Express will introduce flights on the Heraklion-Tbilisi-Heraklion route.
According to the application submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency, the airline’s new direct service will operate once a week, every Tuesday, from July 6 to September 22.
The Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia has already approved the necessary permissions for Sky Express to operate flights on this route.
As noted by the Civil Aviation Agency, Sky Express entered the Georgian aviation market in 2024, currently offering regular flights between Athens and Tbilisi.
It is worth highlighting that air traffic between Georgia and Greece is experiencing a notable increase in passenger numbers. Last year, a total of 284,858 passengers travelled directly between the two countries, representing a 29% rise compared to 220,776 in 2023.
During this summer season, flights between Georgia and Greece will be operated by Aegean Airlines, Sky Express, and Wizz Air, with a combined frequency of 19 flights per week.
