High above Georgia’s valleys, Caucasus glaciers form another important part of the country’s water system. Meltwater feeds mountain rivers that travel through the country before ultimately reaching larger river systems or the Black Sea.
To the west, Georgia has more than 300 kilometres of Black Sea coastline. Batumi, Kobuleti, Ureki, Shekvetili and smaller coastal destinations have developed around this natural advantage, making the sea one of the country’s most important tourism resources.
