GeoStat: Georgian visitors spent nearly GEL 400 million during 3Q 2025

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), the average monthly number of domestic visitors aged 15 and above reached 1,375,700 in the third quarter of 2025. These visitors made approximately 1,743,300 trips within the country each month.

During this period, the average monthly number of visitors fell by 5.7 percent, while the total number of visits decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

GeoStat data also shows that Georgian residents made an average of 799,900 tourist visits per month in the third quarter, marking a 6.9 percent decline year-on-year.

The largest share of visitors—36.3 percent—were aged between 31 and 50, and women accounted for 57.8 percent of all visitors.

The survey further revealed that 38.7 percent of visitors were residents of Tbilisi, followed by 15.4 percent from the Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi, and Kvemo Svaneti regions, and 9.6 percent from the Adjara Autonomous Region. Other regions contributed smaller proportions.

Nearly half of all visits (49.3 percent) in the third quarter of 2025 were made to visit friends and relatives.

Imereti recorded the highest number of average monthly visits at 352,300, followed by Tbilisi with 307,000.

Total expenditures related to these visits reached GEL 399.5 million in the third quarter, a 2.8 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2024. Additionally, average spending per visit dropped by 1.9 percent, amounting to GEL 229.1.
