Georgia Hotels Hosted 6.2 Million Guests in 2025, Led by Israeli Visitors

According to Geostat, hotels and hotel-type establishments in Georgia hosted 6.2 million guests in 2025, marking a 6.5% increase compared to 2024.

Foreign Visitors

Foreign citizens accounted for 62.7% of all guests. Israeli citizens represented the largest share, with 555.4 thousand guests, or 14.3% of the total, up 1% year-on-year.

Citizens of Russia and Turkey ranked second and third, respectively.

EU citizens accounted for 10.4% of all foreign guests.

Purpose of Visit

The overwhelming majority of foreign guests — 92% — stayed in Georgia’s hotels and hotel-type establishments for holiday and recreational purposes.

Business travel accounted for 4.5% of visits, while 0.7% of foreign guests traveled to Georgia for medical treatment.

Recreational Visitors

Among foreign guests who stayed in hotel and hotel-type establishments for leisure and recreation, Israeli and Russian citizens represented the largest shares, accounting for 14.7% and 12.9%, respectively.
