GeoStat: In December, Construction Cost Index up by 5.2 percent annually

In December 2025 the Construction Cost Index (CCI) increased by 2.7 percent compared to the previous month, while it increased by 5.2 percent compared to December 2024, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.

In detail:

⦁ The residential segment index increased by 2.5 percent compared to the previous month and by 6.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year;

⦁ The non-residential segment index increased by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month and by 8.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year;

⦁ The civil segment index increased by 3.3 percent compared to the previous month and by 2.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In December 2025 the Construction Cost Index (CCI) increased by 2.7 percent compared to the previous month. The change was mainly due to a 15.3 percent increase in average monthly nominal wages of employees in the construction sector, which contributed 2.78 percentage points to the total index change.

Compared to December 2024 the CCI increased by 5.2 percent. The latter was largely caused by the 23.9 percent increase in average monthly nominal wages of employees in the construction sector and by the 4.0 percent increase in the category of other costs, which contributed 5.09 and 0.24 percentage points to the total index change, respectively. Along with this, the Construction Cost Index posted a 29.2 percent increase compared to February 2022.
