New European low-cost carrier Norwegian Air Sweden commences direct flights to Tbilisi

Starting in June 2026, Tbilisi will gain a direct air connection to another major European destination – Copenhagen, Denmark. The route will be operated by Norwegian Air Sweden, a subsidiary of the well-known Scandinavian low-cost carrier Norwegian.

According to the Ministry of Economy, and pending final approval from the Civil Aviation Agency, flights between Tbilisi and Copenhagen will run twice weekly – on Wednesdays and Saturdays from June 27, and on Wednesdays and Sundays from August 15.

The airline received official authorization to launch operations on March 23 from the Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The Ministry notes that the new Copenhagen–Tbilisi–Copenhagen route will strengthen Georgia’s ties with Scandinavian countries and help drive tourism from Northern Europe. In addition, Copenhagen Airport – one of Europe’s key transit hubs – will provide Georgian passengers with broader access to onward connections across Europe and North America.
